New Mosque Hünkar Kasrı
The building, which was built as a small pavilion in 17th century upon the request of Safiye Sultan, wife of Sultan Murad III, for the Sultan and his family so as to take a rest and meet their needs before and after prayers, has been opened to visit with a restoration award after nearly 4-year restoration. The building, lifetime of which is said to be extended for 400 years, has been awarded with the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage in the field of protection. The New Mosque Hünkar Kasrı, which is a spectacular building by itself and with its usage purpose, history and restoration, will host the Solo Exhibitions of the Yeditepe Biennial.
