Ayten Pelit

Born in Germany, Ayten Pelit graduated from the traditional Turkish Handicrafts Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1997. She took miniature lessons from Tahsin Ayutalp, illuminated manuscript, from Ali Alparslan, calligraphy from Yakup Cem and taught painting from 1997 to1998. The illuminated manuscript and miniature course opened at Kadıköy Public Education Center in 1998 was also the first illuminated manuscript course opened in public education centers in Turkey. Apart from this 20-year-old course, the artist continues to teach at her own Workshop. Mrs. Pelit, who has held 13 personal exhibitions until now, has participated in many exhibitions besides the exhibitions she has opened with his students.
