She was born in Üsküdar/Istanbul.
She completed her undergraduate degree in 1984 at M.U, Ataturk Faculty of Education, and Department of Painting-Education. In 1983, she started her gilding courses at the foundation of Kubbealtı Culture and Art Nakışhane, and as a result of her continuing courses in master-apprentice relation in 1987, she received her master's Degree (license) from Prof. Dr. Çiçek Derman, and ,in 1991 from Assistant Professor Dr. İnci Ayan Birol
In 1986 she started working as a research assistant in miniature Branch at Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of traditional Turkish Arts, on illuminated manuscript. she became a lecturer in 1992; she became a lecturer in the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, F Faculty Institute Of Social Sciences, With her thesis titled ’‘Serlevha illumination’‘, she took her Master's degree in 1990 and with her thesis titled ’‘Ali Üsküdari motif and Style understanding ‘‘ in 1996; she received her assistant professor title in 1997.; Currently, she teaches on undergraduate, Master's and doctorate degree programs, thesis Art, Turkish ornamentation Art, History of Turkish illuminated manuscript (ornamentation) art, writing and thesis Studies. In 2008, Ali Üsküdari, published her book ‘‘The Illuminated manuscript and the Rugani master, called the ‘’flower painter’‘. She did research on ‘‘the art of the illuminated manuscript in writing works ’‘in museums and libraries both at home and abroad. She has, articles and publications on ’‘the art of the Illuminated manuscript’‘, and works in private collections. She continues her works in her private workshop.
