Leyla Varol, who performed oil painting before the decorative arts, started to teach illuminated manuscript classes with Derya Önder in 1999. She gave lectures on the initiation of illuminated manuscript for 4 years.
In 2003, she received marbling art courses from Meral Özcan and completed marbling art training and gave special courses in this field. Leyla Varol, who participated in tile lessons of Nurhan Yılmaz in 2004 and in miniature lessons of Berrin Çakın in the Turkish Islamic Arts Center in 2010, continued to work in miniature projects in the project group until 2016.
At the State Turkish Decorative Arts competitions in 2005 at marbling branch, and between 2011 and 2015, her miniature branch of art was exhibited. In 2011, she took part in the ‘face of Istanbul’ project at the Classical Turkish Islamic Arts Foundation. Mrs. Varol, who won the Second Prize in miniature category at the Masters of the future traditional arts competition in 2013, received the first prize in the same competition in 2014, and honorable mention in the Konya Meram miniature competition in 2016, participated in many mixed exhibitions.
