Born in Van in 1965 and graduated from high school, Tahsin Kurt retired from Hayrat Neşriyat printing house. In 1987 he began to take lessons from Prof. Dr. Ali Alparslan. After these lessons, he received a degree from 1991. In 1994, Calligrapher Hüseyin Kutlu began to take gratification courses in 2001, he completed gratification.
In 1997, he was awarded honorable mention at the International Calligraphy competition organized in1999 and 2001, he was awarded the achievement awards in the State Calligraphy competition organized by the Ministry of Culture. In 2005, he won Albaraka Türk won first place in the calligraphy competition and in 2008, won second place in the same competition.
Kurt, who participated in many exhibitions in Turkey and exhibited his works in private collections, continues to work on the calligraphy.
