Abdulhamit Yılmaz was born in Erzurum in 1979. In 2003, he graduated from Atatürk University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts, Art of Illumination Branch as the highest ranked student. After his graduation, he gave Illumination, Miniature and Tile lessons at Erzurum Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and Yunus Emre Culture and Art Centre in Erbaa district of Tokat.

In 2006, Yılmaz moved to Istanbul and started his master's degree at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University in 2011. He has participated in many exhibitions in Türkiye and abroad and has works in private collections.

He is currently working on the art of illumination and restoration of old artefacts at Fatih Art Academy workshop in İstanbul.
