Ayfer Demir was born in Rize in 1969. In 2004, she started her illumination (manuscript) education at the Turkish Youth Foundation and continued her illumination art education with Ayşenur Kadakçı Velioğlu at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation in 2008 and graduated after an academic education process. She took scientific botanical illustration classes from Hülya Korkmaz and Basic Art Education classes from Emine Kazdal. She worked as an assistant to Ayşenur Kadakçı Velioğlu between 2012-2016.

Demir participated in many group exhibitions and projects in Türkiye and worked at Ataşehir Public Education Centre. The artist, who was awarded the Ministry of Culture Artist Card in illumination art branch, continues his 3rd year at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Traditional Turkish Arts Department, which she won in 2022. She has performed the illumination of the entire Holy Qur'an in a single plate written by Calligrapher Osman Çiçek.
