Ayşe Tak

Born in 1984 in Istanbul, Ayşe Tak studied at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Graphic Design Department between 2012-2019. Her interest in traditional arts started with the illumination and tile lessons she took between 2003-2008. After receiving pencil drawing training at the Gülümser Atılgan Workshop, Tak took miniature lessons from Taner Alakuş between 2006-2008 and worked as his assistant during this period.

Since 2008, the artist started to give miniature and basic art education courses at ISMEK Educational Institutions and she still continues this work. Tak, who adopts surreal approaches as well as classical style in her miniature works, also produces in different disciplines.

The artist took part in the *Istanbul Miniatures* project organised by the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation in 2009 and won the exhibition award in the Miniature Branch at the 15th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition of the Ministry of Culture in the same year. In 2017, she attracted attention with her project *Run of Souls - Re-Animation* (*Ruhların Kaçışı - Yeniden Canlandırma Animasyon*) in the 5th Animators Festival Film Competition.

Ayşe Tak continues her original artworks in which she combines traditional and contemporary approaches and goes on with her productions in the field of miniature.
