Born in Germany, Ayten Pelit continued her higher education at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She received illumination training from Tahsin Aykutalp, calligraphy lessons from Ali Alparslan and miniature training from Yakup Cem and graduated from the Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts in 1997. After working as an art teacher in the 1997-1998 academic year, she started teaching illumination and miniature at Kadıköy Public Education Centre in 1998, opening the first illumination course in public education centres in Türkiye.

The artist, who has been continuing to teach since then, has opened 15 solo exhibitions, organised many exhibitions with her students and participated in various group exhibitions.
