Esra Aksay

The artist graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 2010 with the second ranking. During her undergraduate education, she worked on basic art education, printmaking techniques and philosophy of art. In 2016, she completed her master's degree at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Miniature Branch with her thesis titled "15-16th Century Timurid, Turkmen and Ottoman Miraj Depictions" (15-16. Yüzyıl Timurlu, Türkmen ve Osmanlı Miraç Tasvirleri). She is currently studying at the Miniature Department of the Proficiency in Art Programme at the same university.

The artist took part in many national and international exhibitions and projects. In 2010, as the artistic director of the exhibition project "Mimar Sinan the Architect", she organized the events in Sofia, Rome and London. In 2016, she participated in the exhibition "Heart Left in Hungary" (Macaristan’da Kalan Yürek) in Budapest. In 2014, she prepared the exhibition "Evliya Çelebi Pilgrimage" (Evliya Çelebi Hac Yolu) in the Sultan Tombs Courtyard of Hagia Sophia.

Since 2017, she has been conducting research studies in the programme "World Cities in the Guidance of Evliya Çelebi" (Evliya Çelebi’nin Rehberliğinde Dünya Şehirleri) broadcast on TRT 2.
