Fatma Büyüksofuoğlu

Born in 1985 in Rize, the artist graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Textile Department in 2009 and Marmara University Institute of Fine Arts Textile Department in 2019 with a thesis on "The Importance of Craftsmanship in Textile Art" (˝Tekstil Sanatında Zanaatin Yeri˝).

In the 12th IHIB Carpet Design Competition, she won with her carpet prepared with ecoprint and embroidery technique on felt.

She founded Nossi Studio and designed clothing and home textiles with natural materials such as Hemp, Cotton, Wool and Silk using Natural Dye, Waxed Batik, Lettering and Ecoprint techniques. She also held workshops on Waxed Batik and Ecoprint on Traditional Felting at Universities.

She worked as a lecturer in Basic Knitting Design course at Istanbul Commerce University Textile and Fashion Design Department. She worked as a lecturer in Handicrafts course and Introduction to Knitting Design course at Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Textile Department.

She is now working as a lecturer at Ondokuz Mayıs University Ladik Vocational School. She gives lectures on Hemp Weaving. She is also a Proficiency in Art student at Marmara University Institute of Fine Arts, writing a thesis on Hemp fibre and conducting artistic studies on Textile Art.
