Mehran (Hossein) Tavakolian

Mehran (Hossein) Tavakolian studied Persian painting at the University of Shiraz from 2013 to 2016. In 2013, he received a "brilliant" level certificate in Persian calligraphy and in 2016 he was awarded the title of calligraphy instructor certified by the Iranian Calligraphy Society. While teaching calligraphy, he studied with Master Yadollah Kaboli Khansari in Tehran and Master Alireza Taljangani in Shiraz.

He taught calligraphy at visual arts academies and institutes in cities such as Shiraz, Darab and Tehran. He organised classes in calligraphy types such as Nastaliq and Shikasta Nastaliq. He is also an approved instructor of calligraphy in many art institutions in Iran.

His works have been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions. In 2019, his works were exhibited at the "Mani" exhibition and "Sadra" festival in Shiraz and at the "Reyhaneh-al Nabi" festival held in Mohr, Iran in 2014. In 2017, he participated in a group exhibition of the works of masters at the Mir-Emad Institute of Visual Arts in Darab. In 2020, he also took part in an exhibition in a cultural magazine called "Talanqor" held in Fars. In 2021, he exhibited his works at the Haan Art Gallery in Shiraz and in calligraphy and painting exhibitions held in Darab in 2014-2015.

In 2018, he served as a curator for the "Avizheh" painting festival in Darab. His publications include "Tao", a collection of Mehran Tavakolian's poetry and calligraphy collections, and an article titled "The Link between Art and Economy" published in 2018. In addition, his article titled "What is Mandala?" published in 2019 was published in the cultural and social magazine named ShahrAzad.
