Born in Ankara in 1979, Mustafa Cemil Efe completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara and then moved to Konya in 1993 and completed his high school education at Konya Imam Hatip High School. Efe, who started his calligraphy education with ruqah, was admitted to Selçuk University, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Art Major of Calligraphy in 2005. In 2008-2009, he graduated with the third ranking in the faculty and the second ranking in the department and in the same year he received the ijazah for thuluth-naskh scripts from Prof. Fevzi Günüç.
Since 2007, his works have been exhibited in more than 200 national and international group exhibitions in countries such as Türkiye, Germany, France, Japan, Nigeria, Vatican, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Serbia and USA. Efe, who prepared private collections for various heads of state, took part in many private collections as well as institutions such as the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and Eyüpsultan Municipality. He organised an exhibition of 90 artists at the Hagia Sophia Mosque.
Mustafa Cemil Efe Art Centre, which he founded in 2011, transformed into Zembil Culture and Art Association in 2020 and continues its activities. The artist, who produces works in jali thuluth, thuluth and naskh branches, also teaches more than a hundred students and works in the fields of graphic design, cinematography and literature.
