Nil Aynalı

After graduating from ITU Department of Architecture in 2005 and Istanbul Bilgi University Architectural Design Master's programme in 2007, she worked in various architectural offices in Berlin and Istanbul. In 2010, she joined the EAA-Emre Arolat Architects team and took part in the design processes of projects including Sancaklar Mosque. During her service at EAA, she curated various exhibitions and participated as a speaker in panels in Türkiye and abroad. In 2012, she served as the co-curator of the 1st Istanbul Design Biennial Musibet exhibition curated by Emre Arolat. In 2013, she became a founding member of the art initiative Yoğunluk, which produces spatial artworks, and took part in the 15th Istanbul Biennial with her work 'The House'. Since 2014, she has been conducting architectural design studios in various schools. In 2023, she received her doctorate degree from ITU with her thesis titled 'Space in Ibn Arabi' (‘İbn Arabi’de Mekân’), which deals with the ontology of space in Sufi thought. She is currently a part-time lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University.
