She was born in Istanbul. She entered the world of illumination by attending Dist. Prof. A. Süheyl Ünver's seminars during her high school years. In 1985, she graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Archaeology and History of Art, Art Major of Classical Archaeology. She had three solo exhibitions in 1992, 2005 and 2009 and her works were exhibited in numerous group exhibitions.

In 2003, two books titled "Illumination" ("Tezhib") and "Illumination Journey" ("Tezhip Yolculuğu") were published in 2020. Since 1990, she has been working as a co-signer with Selim Sağlam, who became her student in 1985.

She is currently an instructor at "Bahariye Art Workshops" and "Classical Arts Training Centre of the National Palaces Department under the Presidency" and a member of the Scientific Committee.
