Senem Demirci

She was born in 1984 in Çorum. She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in the same city. In 2008, she started her Islamic calligraphy training with Mesut Karaca in Çorum and continued her training with a letter from Calligrapher Mehmet Memiş in the same year. In 2011, she came to Istanbul and participated in the classes of the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation and received her ijazah (authorisation) in 2018 after studying thuluth and naskh scripts. She completed her undergraduate education in 2016 and her master's degree in 2019 from FSMVU Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Branch of Calligraphy. During her undergraduate and graduate education, she took script lessons from Calligrapher Davud Bektaş and Calligrapher Ali Toy and still benefits from her teachers. During her undergraduate education, she took illumination lessons from Mustafa Çelebi for three years as an auxiliary art course. Between 2014-2019, she worked as a master instructor in the branch of Islamic Calligraphy within ISMEK.

She teaches calligraphy at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation and continues her works in her workshop in Üsküdar.
