She was born in Istanbul. Simultaneously with her high school education, she studied theology, Arabic, Ottoman Turkish, epistles, tafsir and hadith in madrasah. After her graduation, she taught recitation of the Holy Qur'an and values education at the madrasah for many years. 

After beginning illumination, she studied at Bağlarbaşı Specialisation Centre for one year and then graduated from the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation after completing her illumination training with Necati Sancaktutan and Gülsüm Gügercin.
