Uğur Taşatan, who came to the world in 1982 in Istanbul, graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 2006. He continued his graduate studies at Marmara University and completed the marbling art lessons of Alparslan Babaoğlu, which he started in 2001, in Marbling Art in 2012 and received marbling art reward.
In 2010, he was awarded first prize in Flowery Marbling Art field at the Mausoleum Turkish Marbling Art Competition held in memory of Mustafa Düzgünman. His work deserved to be exhibited at the 12th State Turkish Decorative Arts Marbling Art Competition. In 2015, the Marbling Art Exhibition of Karma on the Path of Masters was organized. In 2017, he opened his first solo exhibition entitled Cezbe in Dolmabahçe Art Gallery.
The artist continues to practice law and gives marbling art lessons in Applied Turkish Islamic Arts Library, Küçükçekmece Traditional Arts Academy, Keçioren Estergon Kalesi Turkish Cultural Center and Kılıç Ali Paşa Madrasah. Mr. Taşatan, who is in the selection committee of Ministry of Culture, Intangible Cultural Heritage Carriers and is the art consultant of Turing, continues to work at the workshop of Turing's Istanbul Art Market.
Ugur Taşatan, married to marbling art artist İsmaile Taşatan, is the father of a girl named Duygu Cemre.
